Wise Gala 2023 Emerging Leaders Award: Jessica and Robin Hanasab

Jessica and Robin Hanasab have spent their entire lives in the Los Angeles Jewish community. Robin first became part of the Wise family 30 years ago when he enrolled as a student at Wise School. Ten years ago, they enrolled their first child in Wise’s early childhood program, and since then, they have been active members of our community.

Together, they are the proud parents of Wise School students Talia, Jacob, and Joseph. Prior to starting her family, Jessica worked in schools in low-income neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and even substituted at Wise School. Now, she is grateful that her children go to a Jewish school, where each day, they have prayer instilled in their hearts and minds, and are reminded that they can and should be proud of their Judaism.

In addition to being a member of the California State Bar, Robin is also a licensed real estate broker in California, a real estate investor, and co-founder of Robhana Group Inc., a vertically integrated commercial real estate owner-operator. Robin runs a portfolio of commercial real estate including office, retail, multifamily, industrial, life science, and development projects.

Robin is a part of Stephen Wise Temple’s Hineini leadership program. Both he and Jessica have been passionate ambassadors for the school, promoting the values of community and inclusivity at Wise. Over the last three years, the Hanasabs have made concerted efforts to unify the community during a time of widespread hardship, separation, and uncertainty. Jessica and Robin value their strong Jewish identity. Both the children of immigrants, Jessica and Robin understand firsthand the importance of not taking their freedom for granted, and their goal continues to be to unite this special community behind a singular common cause: advocating for the importance of instilling in future generations a strong sense of Jewish identity, and the importance of living a Jewish life.
