Note: The four cups of wine at the Passover Seder correspond to the four times our liberation is promised in Exodus 6:6-7. The reading below is inspired by those promises and might be read responsively by the Seder leader and guests.
God – You brought our People out of Egyptian bondage.
Bring us out from all that enslaves us today, from the shackles of our obsessions, insecurities, and addictions.
You saved us from the back-breaking labor.
Save us now from our inability to power down. Help us to find quiet and rest in our ever-connected world.
You redeemed us with an outstretched arm.
Redeem us now from our prejudice and hatred, from the blind eyes we turn towards sexism, racism, homophobia, and intolerance. May we who were strangers in a strange land help the most vulnerable to feel safe.
You took us to be Your People.
Take us once again in love so that we might be close to You, walking in Your ways, sanctifying Your name, partnering with You to repair our world.
