Tomorrow morning we mail our 2018-2019 (5779) Center for Jewish Life brochure. It contains descriptions of dialogues, lectures, classes, and seminars that we hope will stimulate your thoughts and touch your soul.
There are opportunities to engage with an Israeli Navy SEAL, hear from a former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, learn from one of the most prolific and influential Jewish authors of a generation, and enjoy a young novelist who has written a moving book of historical fiction.
We are offering over 20 courses covering such topics as Kabbalah, Bible, the new Stephen Wise Temple Machzor, Daniel Silva’s most recent thriller The Other Woman, Mussar (Jewish spiritual ethics), the history of the Arab-Israeli Conflict, cantillation (Torah chanting), and much more. For the first time, our Melton program added an online course (The Star and the Crescent: Judaism and Islam) and if you enroll in Museums with Mario you’ll visit great works of art with our artist-in-residence Mario M. Muller.
We are especially pleased that six organizations reached out to partner with us. This is the largest Center for Jewish Life offering in our history.
I hope what you read in the brochure inspires you to attend and that you find your Jewish learning experiences to be of the highest caliber.
I extend my personal invitation to join us.
