Malcolm McElheney
Resident Educator

Malcolm is incredibly excited to join the team at Stephen Wise Temple.  Born and raised in Sacramento, Malcolm grew up loving being Jewish. He is an alum of the Union for Reform Judaism’s various youth programs, including Camp Newman, NFTY, and the Kutz Camp. Included in his list of roles at camp are Unit Head, Leadership Teacher, Program Coordinator, and visiting faculty. Malcolm attended New York University where he curated his own degree program, titled “Jewish Youth Programming”, combining his passion for Jewish studies, Child & Adolescent Psychology, and Nonprofit Management. Following his graduation, Malcolm served as the Youth Coordinator and Cantorial Soloist for Congregation Shomrei Torah in Santa Rosa for four years. He worked with the religious school, youth groups, and tutored students preparing for b’nei mitzvah. Malcolm is currently a student at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles, participating in a dual-Masters program with the Rhea Hirsch School of Education and the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management.
