On Thursday morning, our community celebrated together as Wise School honored the 6th Grade Class of 2018 at our graduation ceremonies. Over 60 minutes, our students revealed the most influential lessons from the past (in some cases, 12 years!), as well as their hopes for the future. Throughout, their commitment to exploration, reflection, and the world at large felt tangible.
Together with our Pre-K celebration, Grade 12 Confirmation, and Religious School Aaliyah, Wise has taken many moments in the past month to reflect upon the past while simultaneously gazing toward the future.
As we prepare to enter the summer, the season appears appropriate for contemplation and preparations of our own. Whether its getting out into nature for a moment of peace, joining us for one of our moving outdoor Shabbat services on campus, making our way to the great outdoors with Wise’s Shabbat Summer Tour, visiting Camp Wise or Wise Readers to Leaders, or grabbing a new book (see our clergy’s summer reading list), the summer represents an opportunity for reflection on the past and for new beginnings.
May this summer remind us of all we’ve learned throughout the past year and bring us hope and excitement for the exhilarating year to come.
