Dear friends,

I just left our campus and we have confirmed that all staff have evacuated the facility. We have our Sifrei Torah with us. Our answering service will be taking all calls. Thankfully, no one was injured and the campus is currently safe and secure.

Stephen Wise Temple and Wise School will remain closed for the remainder of the day.

All activities planned for Wednesday, December 6 have been cancelled, including tonight’s AIPAC @ Wise event.

When we have more information about when we can resume our learning and programming, we will share what we know via social media, email, and through our web site.

We pray for everyone’s safety as we are mindful of the many families and friends of our community who have been affected by these fires. We express our immense gratitude for the brave men and women working to keep our neighborhoods safe. We wish to thank all members of our community for their care and concern. If you are in need of any assistance, please email us ([email protected]) or call the main office number (310.476.8561) and the answering service will forward your calls. We are here to help provide support in any way.

I want to express my gratitude to my colleagues Marc Entous, Raz Husany, Sal Gonzalez, and Jackie Defede for their help today protecting our Torah scrolls and shutting down the campus. I am also grateful to our dedicated landscaping crew who came out early this morning to water the hillside brush around the Temple campus.

L’shalom,

Yoshi
