Stephen Wise Temple will host a Zoom briefing on Berkeley Law School and Jewish life at Cal from director of U.C. Berkeley Hillel following article in Jewish Journal
Wednesday, October 12 | 6:30 p.m. | Register
Many in the Stephen Wise Temple and Schools community have expressed concern after reading a recent article in the Jewish Journal about the anti-Israel policies of several affinity groups at Berkeley Law, the law school at the University of California, Berkeley. Unfortunately, the article misrepresented the situation and drew conclusions that are not supported by the circumstances.
We have arranged a special Zoom briefing from the long-serving U.C. Berkeley Hillel director, Rabbi Adam Naftalin-Kelman, who has been proactive in responding to the incident. Notable for building a vibrant Jewish community at the nation’s premier public university, Rabbi Adam will speak about his initiatives to combat antisemitism and hostility towards Israel, his engagement with the Law School Dean, Irwin Chemerinsky, as well as the many positive aspects of Jewish life at Cal.
Joining him will be the assistant vice chancellor for executive communications Dan Mogulof and two Berkeley Law students. Please join us to learn about the situation, how antisemitism is being confronted at our nation’s most prestigious public university, and most importantly, what you can do to strengthen Jewish life at all of our nation’s institutions of higher learning.
Please register and join us on Wednesday evening, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
