Pathways to Confirmation
As a vibrant, large Reform community our teenagers have many opportunities to participate in Jewish life in ways that provide meaning to their lives. Each of our teen programs provides and opportunity for teens to engage with the community and to confirm their commitment to Jewish life, Jewish values and the Jewish community. These opportunities include serving on our WTY Board, serving as a madrich in our Religious School, working at Camp Wise, attending WTY and NFTY youth programs, working at homework club, serving as a Junior Lit Leader with our Wise Readers to Leaders program, and participating in temple life through programs, services and activities.
Relationship with Clergy and the community
In preparation of this celebration, we invite our teens to join our Senior Rabbi and other members of the clergy team for informal, get to know you gatherings. During these sessions teens will continue to build their relationship with our Temple and the community.
The Confirmation Service
Confirmation provides our community a chance to celebrate the many accomplishments of our high school students. Joined with the celebration of the holiday of Shavout, the confirmation service acknowledges the unique and inspiring ways that our teens have embodied the highest values of our tradition – through study, service, and community. The service provides the opportunity to celebrate the commitment that our Wise teens have made to Jewish tradition, Jewish learning, and Jewish community through their work in Jewish education, community building, and acts of tikkun olam, repair of the world. The ceremony honors the role that our teens play in our community and enables our teens to confirm their commitment to Jewish life.
We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2019 on Friday, May 17, 2019.
