We knew what was expected of us. We knew what had to be done. God couldn’t have been clearer about it. God told us to leave the wilderness, to go forth from Mount Sinai and journey to the Land of our Dreams, the land promised to our ancestors.

This groundbreaking program engages participants in deep learning and study with incredible instructors on a variety of fascinating topics. Yizkor Book of Remembrance Submissions
Our Yizkor Book of Remembrance is a time-honored and meaningful way to remember your departed loved ones during this year’s High Holy Days and throughout the year. Submissions will be open from July 12 through August 20. We encourage you to make a contribution of $18 per name listed. This donation allows us to a printed version of the book for all who attend our Yizkor services. Please contact us during office hours at 310.476.8561 if you have any questions or if we may assist you in completing your submission.

Casting your ballot is the single most important way that you can personally influence the policies and positions of our city, state, and country. It is the way that we, as a Jewish community, can make sure that our interests and those principles we uphold are represented. Are you registered to vote? Are your children over the age of 18 registered? Share this link with any non-registered voters. Make sure to register yourself. You can even register to receive a permanent vote-by-mail ballot if you have difficulty voting in person. Make your voice heard!

WiseFit presents Open Gym Pick-Up Sports for Adults
Final Summer Dates:
Wednesdays from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Sundays from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Why should kids have all the fun? Stephen Wise Temple members are invited to play pick-up basketball in our beautiful new Katz Family Pavilion athletics facility. Bring your A-game and up to two friends every Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. to show off your hoops skills. Open gym is completely free. Note that only persons 18 and over are eligible. Please wear appropriate gym clothing. Waivers must be signed upon entry.
Swimming: Do you prefer the water over dry land? We’ve got you covered! Come down to the pool and check out our WiseFit Master’s swimming program. This program includes guided workouts three times per week early in the morning.

Our seaside service has become a beloved summer tradition, bringing together friends from all over Los Angeles for a sunset Shabbat full of meaningful prayer and uplifting music. As always, arrive early to stake out a spot for your blanket and picnic “pre-neg” and be sure to pack your frisbees and beach balls for an after-service hangout!

Lunch Bunch: Caring for the Stranger
Tuesday, August 21 at 5 p.m. | Sanctuary Building
Help our Lunch Bunch care for the stranger by assembling lunches for residents at LA Family Housing’s valley shelter. Delivery of the lunches will take place on the morning of Wednesday, August 22. Your help is greatly appreciated, especially in the summer months when school is not in session and many are traveling. For the past two years, our extraordinary clergy, musicians, and singers have wowed audiences at Beverly Hills’ beautiful Beverly Cañon Gardens, performing an eclectic mix from traditional Jewish and Israeli music to pop favorites to last year’s stunning “Summer of Love” selections. This hidden gem of a venue has plenty of seating, lawn space for family picnickers, and restaurant patios for those grabbing a happy hour cocktail and nosh. Limited free parking is available.
