Jewish World Watch (JWW) is a project of a coalition of synagogues working together to mobilize synagogues, their schools, members, and the community to combat genocide and other egregious violations of human rights around the world.
It is the mission of Jewish World Watch to:
- Develop educational programs to educate the target constituencies
- Activate the target constituencies to generate response from the United Nations and US policy makers
- And realize resources to provide assistance to the survivors and victims of genocide and egregious violations of human rights.
Each quarter, the Jewish World Watch Synagogue Advisory Committee (SAC) considers projects for JWW funding. All projects funded by JWW are done in partnership with qualified non-profit organizations which operate in the refugee camps in Darfur or Chad.
JWW has funded medical clinics, water systems and water wells, a mediation project between rival armed groups, a solarcooking project to reduce the instances of rape, and an educational toy project for children in the refugee camps. We have funded projects in partnership with the International Medical Corps, International Rescue Committee, International Crisis Group, Care-Chad, KoZon, and Solar Cooking International.
