Before the High Holy Days officially commence on Erev Rosh Hashanah, before the solemnity of Yom Kippur, the High Holy Day season kicks off with S’lichot services at Stephen Wise Temple, co-hosted by Wise, Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, and Temple Isaiah.

Saturday, September 9

6:45 p.m. | S’lichot Under the Stars | In-Person and Online | REGISTER

Experience a deeply meaningful and meditative evening of prayer, music, and study with your clergy as we observe the ritual of S’lichot. A tradition in both the Mizrahi and Ashkenazi communities, S’lichot is a time for us to come together as a community to begin the process of t’shuvah (repentance) in spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days.

On Saturday, Sept. 9, Wise will co-host S’lichot with Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills and Temple Isaiah on our campus, as all three of our communities begin the High Holy Days together. We invite you to come and re-energize yourself and find strength through emotional, spiritual, and communal nourishment.

Our evening will begin at 6:45 p.m. with a soulful outdoor Havdalah service in front of our Sanctuary building. At 7 p.m., we will hold study sessions in our temple building. And following an outdoor dessert reception, we will convene on Casden Plaza under the stars for music and worship at 8:15, which will be broadcast live on WiseLA.org/Online, and on our  YouTube page.

We hope you’ll join us for this soulful evening to take what you need from our worship and learning opportunities and to enter the High Holy Days refreshed in mind, body, and spirit.
