Koreh L.A. Literacy Program – Help a Child Read!

Here is a staggering statistic: nearly 70% of fourth grade children in Los Angeles public schools cannot read at grade level. For this reason, Stephen S. Wise Temple is a major supporter of Koreh L.A., The Los Angeles Jewish Coalition for Literacy. Our community, with our knowledge and our proud tradition of volunteerism, can play a vital role in remedying this injustice.

By taking a 3-hour training seminar, you will become a reading tutor, and then partnered with a kindergarten through third grade child at a Los Angeles area public school near you. All you need to do is volunteer for one hour, once a week throughout the school year. This small commitment of your time and talent can make a huge difference in a child’s future.
