As we enjoy the warmer weather, sunshine, and the overflowing greenery growing on our hilltop, we rejoice in this season of renewal. For Wise, this is also a season of celebration. Wise Gala Just Around the Corner!

Our annual Wise Gala will take place on Saturday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. in our Katz Family Pavilion and on Nahmias Plaza.

We are thrilled to honor Janine and Rick Kolodny for their more than 30 years of steadfast leadership and commitment to Wise. We are proud to present the inaugural Midor L’Dor award to Sussan Shore and her daughter Alexsondra Fixmer for their extraordinary dedication to our community over the years. We are delighted to present Jessica and Robin Hanasab with the Emerging Leaders Award in recognition of their impact at Wise, promoting the values of community and generosity.

Los Angeles Jewish Health Will Honor Andy Berman at April 30 Gala

The Executives of Los Angeles Jewish Health (LAJH) are set to honor Wise Board member Andy Berman at their Circle of Life Gala at Katz Family Pavilion on April 30. Andy serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Los Angeles Jewish Health.

The organization, formerly known as the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging, provides long-term care, high-quality healthcare services, assisted living, independent residential living, and memory care for Jewish seniors in the greater Los Angeles area.

Plutskys Honored as Builders of Jewish Education

On March 19 at Stephen Wise Temple, past Wise Board members Susan and Mel Plutsky were honored by the Builders of Jewish Education at the BJE Builders Bash gala. During the event, held in Katz Family Pavilion, they were honored as “Builders Who Go Above and Beyond,” for their dedication to community-wide engagement, and decades of support and leadership .

Said BJE Executive Director Dr. Gil Graff: “Their decades of support have helped BJE thrive as a communal resource for schools, educators, students, and parents.”

Sandy Sigal Named Board President of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles

In January, the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles appointed Wise Board member Sandy Sigal as its Board President. Sandy had previously served on the organization’s executive committee, and has been a JBBBSLA board member for over 15 years.

“We are thrilled to have Sandy take on this important role as our new Board President,” said Cari Uslan, CEO of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles. “His passion, personal connection, and dedication to our organization will be invaluable as we continue to grow and serve more youth in need.”
