Before our Purimland Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 5, Stephen Wise Temple’s Center for Youth Engagement families and families from Leo Baeck Temple Religious school joined for a special tikkun olam project.
Together on the Wise campus, 110 people (34 families) partnered to observe the mitzvah of matanot laevyonim, gifts for those in need. Together, the two communities made 230 lunches, distributed to those experiencing food scarcity through Hang Out, Do Good, a partner of the LA Food Coalition, as well as 24 “welcome home” boxes for recently housed families, distributed by LA Family Housing.
