From Sept. 28 to Oct. 16, right in the middle of the High Holy Day season, Stephen Wise Temple and Volunteer Collective are teaming up for the Walking Together Shoe Drive.
You can clean out your closet and make a difference, as we collect new and gently-used shoes and new socks for men, women, and children. The campaign is a partnership with Shoes for the Homeless, Inc., which distributes the shoes to nonprofits throughout Los Angeles.
Please bring your shoes to the temple and drop them in the box in the administration building (main office). It is best to tie the laces together and put them in a bag if you can. Don’t forget new socks!
To find out about this and other ways you can make a difference, head over to our Center for Tikkun Olam, or contact Rabbi Ron Stern.
The Walking Together Shoe Drive is an annual donation event that provides an incredible service to those in need, as well as a sense of fulfillment to those who stand up to help.
