If you pick up this week’s copy of the Jewish Journal, you will see a lot of Stephen Wise Temple. Rabbi David Woznica and Rabbi Josh Knobel were both featured in the venerable publication, and we’ve got your essential links here.

Rabbi David Woznica‘s recent visit to the Middle East as part of a diplomatic delegation of 12 American rabbis was featured in this week’s Jewish Journal. You can read the full article HERE.

Last month, Rabbi Woznica joined with rabbis from across the denominational spectrum on a trip to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Israel. The delegation was brought by the governments of those countries to celebrate the Abraham Accords.

Over a nine-day period, the rabbis met and had briefings with over 20 leaders in all three nations, including His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi, Director of the Manara Center, an architect of the Abraham Accords, former Chairman of Defense Affairs, Interior, and Foreign Relations Committee of the UAE Federal National Council; and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his Cabinet Room.

He will be sharing some of his reflections on the trip this Friday, July 14, at our Shabbat Services.

If you turn to the last page of this week’s Journal, you will find a feature on Rabbi Josh Knobel, the director of our Center for Youth Engagement, who is the subject of the latest edition of the Jewish Journal’s “Rabbis of L.A.” series. In the article, Rabbi Josh discusses jumping out of planes, how he met his wife, and how the Hebrew Union College admissions director couldn’t believe he’d rather wear a tallit on his shoulders than a general’s stars. Pick up a copy in the Sanctuary lobby this Friday night, or click HERE to read the full article, “From the Barracks to the Bima,” by Ari Noonan. Noonan also profiled Rabbi Sari Laufer last month in “Rabbis of L.A.” You an read that article HERE.
