Our hearts go out to those affected by the senseless shootings in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood over the past 48 hours. The three victims were Jewish, and were shot from moving vehicles as they were leaving synagogues, places that should be refuges of peace and sanctuary.

The latest information indicates that the perpetrator, now apprehended by police, held antisemitic motives. Such acts of violence serve no other purpose than to instill fear in the hearts of a community. In the face of such acts, we must remain resolute in our commitment to suppressing acts of violence in our midst and to strengthening the ties that bind us as a community.

Rest assured that our security team is fully aware of the situation, and is in contact with local law enforcement. The safety and wellbeing of our students, families, and staff is, as always, our highest concern. As this is a developing situation, we will update you as appropriate.
