Stephen Wise Temple member Leandro Tyberg and the real estate firm he co-founded, Primestor Development, were recently featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal for raising $165 million for their Urban Vision Fund I, which will fund local mixed-use and transit-oriented projects that serve urban and minority communities in Los Angeles County.

Tyberg serves as president and COO of the Culver City-based Primestor, which plans to nearly double that amount by the end of the year. Since Tyberg co-founded Primestor with CEO Arturo Sneider in 1991, the company has invested more than $1 billion in real estate projects, with a core thesis of investing in and developing projects in dense, urban communities with potential for high growth and limited access to essentials like housing and basic services.

The company has created more than 14,000 local construction and permanent jobs that generate $1.3 billion in local economic activity in historically overlooked communities each year.

The Tyberg family (including Leandro’s parents Rosita and Juan) have been part of the Wise community for over three decades. Leandro attended Wise Elementary as a child, and has served as the chair of the building committee overseeing the construction of Katz Family Pavilion and Shalom Garden, and is currently chairing the building committee overseeing the construction of Aaron Milken Center.

Leandro’s wife Lori has served on the Executive Committee on the Board of Directors, overseen Wise Hearts, and has chaired the Tikkun Olam Committee, along with being a former Wise Parents Association president.
