Many thanks to the volunteers from Wise who gathered in May at The Woodlands, Hope the Mission‘s new 400-bed site in Woodland Hills, to help set-up furniture, make beds, and decorate about 12 of the 100 rooms for families who will be moving in this month. The welcome kits that were made during Mitzvah Day will be used to help make each room feel like home for its new residents. This is one of the many projects Hope the Mission is engaged in to meet overwhelming need to provide housing and support services in the greater Los Angeles area.
By the end of 2023, Hope the Mission aims to provide daily shelter to over 2,500 homeless residents. In addition to financial gifts, Hope the Mission is actively encouraging volunteering as well as in-kind donations of goods. Hope the Mission is also seeking items of need for its shelters, including school supplies (backpacks, art supplies, books, etc.), tennis shoes (new or gently used), new underwear for children and adults, work boots, and plus-size casual clothing. Anything that can be provided is a tremendous support to the residents seeking to get their lives back on track and achieve sustainability.
