The return of Stephen Wise Temple and Schools’ Mitzvah Day on Sunday was a smashing success.
Thanks to an incredible volunteer team of school parents and non-school temple members, 200 people of all ages gathered on Nahmias Plaza to make our world just a little better.
We stocked backpacks with summer supplies to be distributed at LA Family Housing. We filled baskets with necessities for Hope The Mission families as they take up residency in Hope’s newest family shelter in Woodland Hills. Our Aaron Milken Center children tricycled in circles to raise money and awareness for Beit Issie Shapiro and our Wise School students played basketball to benefit the Israel ParaSport Center.
Wise Readers to Leaders ran a book donation booth, and invited Mitzvah Day participants to make bookmarks for our WRTL scholars. Our SOVA team created delectable goodies to sell at the SOVA Market so that we can help stock the shelves at SOVA’s food distribution centers. Of course, what would Mitzvah Day be without a bounce house and an inflatable slide? Check and check!
We had so much fun and so much good was accomplished by all!
