Along with donating over $70,000 for our Wise Gala Fund-a-Need on Saturday (which will be matched by a generous donor), the Stephen Wise Temple and Schools community donated in another big way last week at our annual spring blood drive.
Wise members, clergy, and staff donated 27 pints of blood for the American Red Cross, including eight from first-time donors, and three Power Red donations, exceeding our drive goal.
Those 27 pints of blood will go to save up to 81 lives. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has wreaked havoc on nationwide blood supplies, Wise has now donated 298 pints of blood, enough to save up to 894 lives.
“We are so grateful that we have been lucky to work with such an amazing community,” said said Red Cross account manager Nina Minton. “I wish we could be there all the time! I would never leave. The warm hug one gets from being on your campus has to suffice until we return.”
