With the recent incidents of threats called into Jewish institutions across the country over the last several weeks, our thoughts and prayers are with the families, staff, faculty, and clergy affected. There is no doubt that this is a concerning time for all of us. We want to reassure our community that in the event of a threat at Wise, we are well prepared. Our Risk Management Team has designed procedures for these types of threats and our staff is trained continuously. Protocols, developed in accordance with guidance from the Department of Homeland Security, are in place.

– Training to staff and faculty on how to respond to vocal or written threats to the campus.

– Maintaining close contact with safety experts from the LA Jewish Federation’s Community Security Initiative, the Anti-Defamation League, and the Los Angeles Police Department to gather timely information and to ensure that our procedures remain consistent with evolving best practices.

– Maintaining close contact with our community partners within the Mulholland Corridor to gather timely information.

– Performing regular emergency response drills with staff, faculty, and students. Note: If you are present on campus during a drill, we ask you to participate in maintaining our readiness!

The safety of our members, our students, faculty, staff, and clergy are of the utmost importance to us. We thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping our community safe.
