Our monthly Mountaintop Morning Shabbat and Festival morning services provide the perfect way for families to bring the beauty of Jewish tradition into their lives. Featuring uplifting music, contributions from our Wise School and Center for Youth Engagement students, as well as meaningful Torah reading and teachings, you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to celebrate together with your Wise Family! CYE Students may sign up in advance to lead any part of the service, giving them great practice as they ultimately prepare to become B’nai Mitzvah!

  • Friday, November 8 – Monday, November 11 | Grade 8-9 Civil Rights Trip to the American South. From November 8-11, students may embark on a transformative journey through the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, traveling to Atlanta, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma to explore the poignant history of Jewish activism that helped reshape the face of America. Trip costs are $1675 per participant.
  • Sunday, December 8 | Grade 7-8 Understanding Homelessness Field Trip. On Sunday, December 8, students in Grades 7-8 will visit Skid Row for an incredible opportunity to witness firsthand the effects of homelessness in Los Angeles. Alongside the staff of Tzedek America and teens from Leo Baeck Temple, your teen will travel to downtown Los Angeles on the metro, take a guided tour of downtown LA and Skid Row, meet with someone who was formerly homeless, and learn about impactful organizations who are seeking to address the issue of homelessness in our city. This has been an incredibly impactful and meaningful experience for students over the past several years and allows them to see LA and understand homelessness in a more nuanced and human way. There is no charge for this opportunity.
  • Friday, February 28 – Monday, March 3 | Grade 10-12 L’Taken Social Justice Seminar. From February 28-March 3, students from Grades 10-12 may join Jewish teens from around the country for an intense weekend of learning and fun. Teens learn about the complexities of the legislative process, how teens can impact legislative agendas, and even have time to explore the District of Columbia! The weekend culminates with each participant delivering a personally written speech in the offices of their House Representative or one of our California Senators. Trip costs are approximately $1400 per participant.
