On Sunday, our Stephen Wise Temple bicycle riders—Team Wise Wheels—completed the Tour de Summer Camps ride, raising $12,000 to fund scholarships to Jewish summer camps in California.
The weather, said Rabbi Ron Stern, was beautiful, and the ride was well supported by representatives from the many California camps benefiting from the scholarship dollars. Each rest stop offered delicious snacks and wonderful hot foods appropriate for hungry bikers.
Team Wise Wheels rode hundreds of collective miles. Participants could ride 18, 36, 62, or 100 miles, and Team Wise Wheels ran the gamut. Congratulations to all the Wise riders: Rabbi Stern (62 miles), Allen Kamrava (36 miles), Keven Khakshouri (62 miles – star fundraiser!), Noah Stern (62 miles), Marc Tavakoli (36 miles), Barry Levin (62 miles), Harlan Spinner (62 miles), Alastair Boucaut (62 miles), Maya Kamrava (36 miles), David Meshullam (62 miles), Michael Akiva, Steve and Max Wiseman (62 miles), and Gary and Julie Solnit.
